Phil Yanov has been the premier tech community organizer of the upstate for the last 20 years, even before Tech After Five began back in 2008 with the since retired Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson Technology Council also know as GSATC.
As the Carolina Code Conference reboot began he was one of the first people interested in helping us to promote the event. In May, he hosted a Tech After Five event where I was able to announce and promote the conference, meeting several business owners who have since chosen to become sponsors as well.
"Greenville, South Carolina is a great place to grow your tech business," says Phil Yanov, founder of Tech After Five. "It's not just the location. It's the people and the community. High tech and Southern hospitality come together in Greenville to create a perfect place to flourish. The Carolina Code Conference will be a campfire for the Upstate tech community."
During the April event, I was able to meet a number of folks in the community to talk about the rebooted conference event which resulted in more sponsors and several speaker applications as well. It even created the opportunity to share my Clemson knowledge to facilitate better date nights for another local developer (Go Tigers!).
Phil acted as a sounding board, helping to craft our first ever Press Release and even hosted me on his podcast to promote the event.
Tech After Five has always been a great venue to connect with the local tech community and that venue is a direct result of Phil Yanov. Come out tonight (July 19) from 5:30-7pm at Think Tank Brew Lab to experience it for yourself!
Thank you for everything Phil!
