Tickets for the 2024 Carolina Code Conference
Our research is done and we're ready to announce!
At the close of the 2023 Carolina Code Conference, we talked about the future of the event as well as a lot of things that we learned. We’ve got the energy and excitement, that definitely showed. A sellout after 25 minutes in 2023 is a great step to build on! The biggest remaining factors in order to have a stable future; we need a budget to keep it going.
In 2023, we were blessed with a lot of willing sponsors who covered about 95% of the event costs. As we break down how the costs work, there are per-attendee costs and other peripheral event costs related to the venue, speakers, photography, videography, promotion, taxes, tools, etc.
With that in mind and with a goal to grow, we’re going to have a ticket pricing structure which aims to cover just the attendee related costs. We’ve researched a lot of other events and their pricing structures to get here with everything from free tickets to $800+ costs, which resulted in what should be a ideal model moving forward.
2024 Ticket Pricing
Here’s how it breaks down. There are 2 core attendee costs. One to attend the event at all and another to attend the event each day. With that in mind, for our 2 day event the pricing will be as follows:
$150 full conference, two day ticket (Friday AND Saturday)
$100 single day ticket (Friday OR Saturday)
That allows for a $50 budget per person who attends the conference at all and another $50 for the costs per day.
Scholarship Tickets
Additionally, we’re going to allow ticket scholarships. Anyone who has a need for a ticket but is experiencing difficulty with the costs will have the opportunity to join a scholarship waiting list. There are no requirements for this list. If you feel you have a need, you may feel free to join the waitlist.
A certain amount of scholarship ticket contributions will be included with sponsorships and we will also open the pool to allow anyone to contribute to the scholarship pool. Scholarship tickets may be single day only or both days. It will depend on availability and demand.
The Grow Together Discount
We also announced that in order to grow this event year over year, we want to make sure that our attendees keep coming back! With that in mind, attendees of the 2023 conference will get early access to tickets and a 20% discount during the early access period. If you had a ticket but returned it so that somebody on the waitlist could attend in your place, you will also be eligible for early access.
Lastly, our Individual Sponsors who have paid subscriptions to this blog to support the conference will also receive the Grow Together Discount and early access to tickets.
Event Volunteer Tickets
As always, volunteers for the conference will also received free tickets. We will have a more structured volunteer schedule this year with the goal to ask volunteers to help during a single, half-day volunteer shift during the 2 day event. That way you’re able to help us out, but you’re also able to spend most of your time enjoying the experience.
