Speakers, Tickets and Project Timelines
Now that the Call for Speakers has closed, here is what you can expect over the next couple of months
Our Call for Speakers officially closed on Monday at midnight. True to form we had session submissions coming through right until the very end including two during the final minute. We had an incredible turnout for this year’s event with a total of 209 talks submitted by 139 speakers.
Here’s a quick breakdown…
130 Full Sessions (45-60 minutes) competing for 4 - 5 spots
128 Intermediate (20-30 minutes) competing for 8 - 10 spots
40 Lightning Talks (5-10 minutes) competing for 12-18 spots
With the turnout, expect approximatley 3 weeks to review everything, narrow the field and confirm the speakers before the official announcement sometime around May 10th (tentatively). There are a lot of very compelling talks…so this is going to be tough.
To hold you off in the meantime, feel free to check out our 2023 Speakers and all of their talks on our YouTube channel!
Sponsor Update
I’m excited to announce that our last Platinum Sponsor spot has been claimed! You’ll see an announcement soon!
There are still Gold and Silver sponsor spots available for sponsors who want booth space at the event and as usual, Bronze is unlimited (up to max ticket availability). Checkout the full offering as we have very complete sponsor package this year.
Ticket Updates
As promised, early access tickets will be coming very soon. We’re working out some final details on an activity during the conference that will need to be included in the ticket purchase but as soon as that has been finalized, early access tickets will be released as discussed previously.
One month later, General Availability tickets will go on sale. There will be multiple announcements as the time approaches. Stay tuned!
Easy come, Easy go…
While you wait, don’t forget to submit a pull request entry in your favorite language(s) for our Lyrical Code T-shirt featuring Bohemian Rhapsody this year! The most creative entry will win a free ticket!
Waiting on me…
The last couple of months have been extremely busy for me personally and as such, a few things have been delayed. You probably noticed a slowing of rate at which episodes of the Carolina Code Cast have been published and the team working on the Polyglot Site has also been waiting on me to get a few things done.
My apologies for that but I do expect to get everything caught up and back on track over the next 6 weeks!
