Tickets! Early Access, General Availability, Volunteers and Itinerary
Here are all the details that you never knew you needed on tickets for this year
Early access ticket distribution has begun for the 2024 Carolina Code Conference! We have also distributed links for Our Sponsors to get their allocation, Our Speakers plus a guest and our Advent of Code Ticket Challenge winners from December. The is one ticket that will go to the most creative entry for our Lyrical Code T-shirt as well.
As a reminder, early access tickets are available to attendees of the prior year’s event ahead of general availability with a 20% discount! We plan to continue this policy for future event as well, so attendees of the 2024 Carolina Code Conference will receive early access to purchase tickets for 2025! Early access is also available to Individual Sponsors who sign up for paid subscription to our Substack as a thank you for supporting the conference.
If you did not receive a link for early access tickets and you believe you should have, please check your inbox for a message from tito.com which is the ticketing system that we utilize for the conference. The link was also shared on the conference Zulip instance in the #general stream, since all conference attendees were invited to that chat system. We’ll be utilizing Zulip again this year to let attendees communicate and coordinate as well.
If all that fails and you still don’t have a link, feel free to reach out to me directly via barry@carolina.codes and I will be happy to look into it.
Early access tickets will remain available until June 14th.
General Availability
All remaining ticket will go on sale on June 15th at 9am for $150. June 15th is a Saturday and that was an intentional decision this year. Last year, the conference sold out in 25 minutes and we heard from several people that they were unable to get tickets when they became available due to meeting commitments at work.
Hopefully the Saturday morning ticket launch will allow everyone the same opportunity to get a ticket this year. Here is our conference ticket page with Tito where the tickets will become available the moment the clock strikes 9:00am.
Find all of the details on our Registration page.
Friday Night at Cafe and Then Some!
You may optionally purchase a $25 ticket to attend Cafe and Then Some’s Dinner and Comedy Show on Friday night August 23rd with the rest of the conference. We’ve reserved the venue and they have room for the first 100 people who sign up. Take a look at the original announcement for more details.
Thursday Night at Gather GVL!
We’ve reserved the upstairs at Gather GVL on Thursday August 22nd for a conference welcome social from 6pm - 7pm. If you’ve never been to Gather GVL it’s an excellent venue with numerous restaurant booths where everybody should be able to find something good to eat while they connect with their fellow conference goers. It should be a fun way to kick things off this year.
You’re welcome to hang around after 7pm of course, but we won’t have a private space anymore after that. Gather GVL is also right next to the Greenville Drive stadium and there’s a baseball game that night at 7:05pm too!
Conference Hotel: Aloft Downtown Greenville
If you will be booking at hotel room for the conference, we’ve reserved a block with Aloft Downtown Greenville from August 22nd - 25th for $179 / night, which will put you right in the middle of all of our downtown activities.
More details about reserving a room can be found when you sign up for your conference ticket. Because we will need to expand the block as usage increases, please note your desire to book at room at the hotel on the ticket questions and we will reach out to you with the link details.
Volunteer Tickets
We are still working out details for our volunteer needs for 2024 and thank you to the people who have already reached out to help. Currently, we expect to need 12 volunteers for the 2 day event that will be broken into four shifts of 3 volunteers per shift: Day 1 Morning, Day 1 Afternoon, Day 2 Morning, Day 2 Afternoon with both teams overlapping during the busy lunch period and all hands during the cleanup. That way our volunteers will still be able to enjoy at least 75% of the event free of responsibility.
That is the current expectation, but there may be more depending on transportation needs to and from the hotel to the venue. In the mean time, go ahead and grab your ticket when you get the opportunity. Once we finalize everything for our volunteers, your ticket will be refunded. If you have an interested in volunteering, please let me know at barry@carolina.codes.
